Comments From the Submitter: We discussed it with the local sales representative from Affymetrix. His best guess was, that it must have occured during hybridization. Since it occured predominantly with chips from a somewhat aged U133B batch, he guessed further that something got loose (eg. small particlesof rubber from the septum) and scratched the surface during rotation. We were puzzled by the oval shapes of the artefact, but that might have to do with the liquid surface (the air bubble) and its cohesion to the walls of the chip's rectangular frame. |
